Our members’ day on the 27th June was a great success. Despite the warm weather there was a good turnout and 43 members stayed on to attended the AGM. Sadly our secretary, Tony Wood, was unable to attend due to ill health and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Several members had brought models for others to admire and we were pleased to welcome our friends from Southampton MRS with their O Gauge layout, Netherton, built by the late David Yule.
Trade stands included ABS Modelstock with kits developed by Adrian Swain and Blacksmith Models who were showing the rejuvenated David Geen collection.
Of course, the highlight of the event was the chance to catch up with fellow members and chat over GWR topics. With the hot weather this placed a considerable demand on the tea urns which required frequent re-filling.
